I feel you.

You want to break free from yoga pants and a tee and just get all dolled up for the afternoon. The warm sun basking on your face as the crisp Fall breeze passing by envelopes you. With homemade slime in your hair and yesterday’s paint project still embedded into your nails, you quickly snap back into reality.

Stopping to ask the question, ”Is this really what homeschooling is all about?”  I mean, I get it.  Pinterest has made a hard sell of freedom and glamour of what homeschooling and virtual in-home school is supposed to look like. But we aren’t pros at this….For so many of us, this is our first try.

And. It. Is. Hard.

Taking on the education of our children, while navigating social protocols is enough to make us want to stay in pajamas all day long.

But I’ve been listening.  You want to feel more like yourself in this season. You don’t want to lose yourself in the daily grind of Zoom, curriculum, and meal planning. You want a glimpse of the pre-pandemic stylish version of yourself. You can see her, but you aren’t quite sure if she’s within reach.

You don’t have to be Insta-Worthy or Pinterest-Worthy. You just need to be you.

To help you I’ve gathered my 4 favorite Stylish Homeschooler Wardrobe Hacks

Wardrobe Hack #1

Invest in one Longline Blazer- I say invest, but you can definitely pick one up very inexpensively through Poshmark, or Thredup that has been gently used for a deep discount. The great thing about a longline blazer, is that it will cover your booty when you are wearing leggings. This means you only need one blazer to ward off the Fall chill while running post school errands that works with a multitude of outfits.  You can also wear a longline blazer over your graphic tee and jeans. Dress it up with a floral blouse for your own Zoom Happy Hour with the girls. The bonus-you can wear whatever you want underneath-throw on the blazer and you have instant style.

Wardrobe Hack #2

The Cashmere Sweater- Cashmere is known for being both lightweight and warm, and comes in a variety of colors and styles.  This makes it an incredibly versatile piece in your wardrobe. PRO TIP- If you pick one up in your favorite color, chances are you will be more likely to use it and see all the style benefits that come along with it. If you tend to wear leggings, choose an oversized sweatshirt style to keep your assets covered. If you prefer wearing jeans, a more fitted style will look perfect!  Fall pics and chilly hikes with one of these will be sure to gain a ton of compliments.

Wardrobe Hack #3

The Power of Twinsies- Pick up a matching set of sweatshirts or tees for you and your mini me(s). We love this one! Be photo and compliment ready when you walk out of the house twining. This also helps your little one feel stylish and part of the team, and it’s easy to do! There are a ton of options-including making your own tie-dye long sleeves in the back yard.  Hello art class credit! Think of all the memories you can make while building confidence in your little one!

Wardrobe Hack #4

Wear a Hat- Skip the ball cap and go straight for the Fedora or Rancher.  I am telling you as a friend, it does not matter what you are wearing on bottom, if you put a nice hat with it…You will feel like your stylish self once again!  Don’t know which hat is the best style for you?  Take our Hat Personality Quiz.
